LinkedIn has trotted out a brand new app to add to its collection of tools for job seekers and employers alike.
The professional social network unveiled a standalone Job Search app, touted as a one-stop shop for job seekers without the distractions of news feed updates and digital content postings.
Some of the features already found on LinkedIn that are being brought into the spotlight with this app include Advanced Search by industry or seniority level as well as recommended listings based on saved searches.
LinkedIn product manager Daniel Ayele explained further in a blog post on Thursday how this fine-tuned approach could enable prospective hires to be more productive in their search and land new gigs faster.
Landing your dream job can feel like a full-time job. So we wanted to make it easier to find, research, and apply for your next opportunity by maximizing your "in between" moments. The next time you're in a line for coffee or stuck waiting for a delayed flight, why not jump-start your job search from your phone.
Following the line of the Mountain View, Calif.-based company's rhetoric lately, Ayele stressed enabling job seekers on mobile devices, citing more than 40 percent its 300 million+ user baseare currently using mobile to look for jobs on LinkedIn.
The Job Search app is launching only in the United States on iPhone initially, but LinkedIn promised expanded support worldwide in multiple languages with future releases.
